For task 4, I did an online search about a historical building in New Zealand, and I chose to research about The Alberton historical house, which is located in Mount Albert.
First I called them and arranged an appointment with 'Mr Rendell', who is the manager of the house. I went to the appointment and took some photos, then I had an interview with the manager and asked him the following questions:
Could you please tell me about your position at Alberton house, and what you do?
When was Alberton house built? and what is the general history of the house?
How old does a house have to be in order to be classified as a historical house? And what other criteria should be considered?
Why are historical houses important, in your opinion?
What do historical houses mean for our generation?
Who looks after the maintenance and preservation of this house?
How many visitors on average, visit the house weekly?
Finally, what services do you provide for the public?
I have recorded the following interview with Mr Rendell:
Great questions, photos and links, Afaf. Your interview was extensive, and it was obvious by your responses that you were able to follow the information Rendell was giving you. well done! Your presentation covered the task well. I am so glad it was a positive experience for you, along with our family. Unfortunately, once again, I was unable to access your reflection....
Thank you for making your reflection available to me, Afaf. It is a great advantage choosing a topic that you are really interested in, so I am not surprised that you did well with this. I am happy that your confidence is growing and hope that you find Task 5 similarly encouraging.
How are you going with this?
