Research My Future Plan
For task 2, I had to research my future plan to work in a law firm in New Zealand.
Step 1:
I found some useful website. first I called Waitakere Community Law Centre, and sent them an email with the questions I wanted to ask. Unfortunately I was not able to organise an interview with them, because they replied with an apology letter by email.
Step 2:
Then I contacted the Citizen Advice Bureau office in Birkenhead, and organised a meeting with a lawyer, to ask her these questions:
- Please can you introduce your self?
- As a lawyer, what is your work with the citizen advice Bureau entails?
- related to my previous experience, are there any opportunities to have a job at a law firm?
- Would you be able to tell me, is there are any minimum requirements that can put me through the right track?
- Is there any person you would recommend, that I should talk to about my future plans?
I met Mrs Elliot, a volunteer lawyer at the citizen advice bureau, and I have recorded the following conversation.

REFLECTION

Hi Afaf
ReplyDeleteJust checking that you're ok with Task 2 and how you're doing. Have you made a start yet?
Hi Afaf
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear your interview. You did well giving a background to your interview, and asking relevant Qs.
Mrs Elliot spoke really clearly, which I'm sure was helpful for you. I hope you can use all the useful advice and information she gave you, especially regarding Ministry of Justice as a possible work experience opportunity....
Your presentation was comprehensive and covered all the key aspects of your task.
Unfortunately I couldn't access your reflection, as access was denied. Please give me permission to access....
Hi Afaf
ReplyDeleteThank you for making your reflection accessible to me. I am glad you finally got to find a suitable person to interview, who had some really valuable advice. I agree with your goal for the subsequent tasks...It is a very good idea to have a Plan B in case your first idea doesn't work out for some reason. Well done on what you are learning along the way....
